The success of affiliate programs is determined by how committed the affiliates are to promoting the product or service. As we have discussed before in our Fundamentals to Running a Successful Affiliate Program article, there are numerous ways that you can help encourage affiliates to go above and beyond to help you sell more, but one of the most effective methods you can use is to offer bonuses to affiliates that perform exceptionally well.
The premium Wealthy Affiliate membership is where you get access to absolutely everything. If you’re serious about building an online business, I have never in my 8 years in this industry seen such an amazing community full of help, tools, and resources. I’ve been a member at several other online marketing sites, but this one blows the rest of them out of the water.
My intent isn’t to make this Wealthy Affiliate review yet another digital sales pitch. As I searched for Wealthy Affiliate reviews, I noticed the vast majority of them are very one sided, don’t offer any other options, and are simply biased sales pitches from affiliate marketers trying to make a buck. So, in MY Wealthy Affiliate review, I’m going to do things a bit differently. Here are some of the topics I’d like to cover…
I would also like to see a forum built into the platform. Wealthy Affiliate has a unique way of building a community and I understand why they shy away from a standard forum type of format. Instead, they want to promote live chat sessions, blog posts, private messaging, and public questions where people can comment below. This type of setup is pretty cool at times, but I also do enjoy forums where I can just browse by topic.
Don’t take this statement as a rule but if you do go through WA training and build your business the way WA teaches you I don’t see why you can’t make $50,000+ in your first year. Most beginner internet marketers fail online because they do not follow a plan of action, get distracted by new shiny products that promise millions overnight and because they do not take enough action. Wealthy Affiliate will help you with all of it: Provide you with a realistic plan of action, courses that you need to follow and tasks you need to complete. Stay focused and you will be successful. StudioPress is a WordPress hosting service and framework that is designed to make setting up and running a WordPress site much simpler and easier. StudioPress comes with its own unique themes and SEO tools, collectively known as the “Genesis framework.”. Their affiliate program is solely for referrals to pay for a StudioPress framework account or buying a StudioPress theme. Previously, the affiliate program also included web hosting, but this is now managed separately by StudioPress’s owner, WPEngine.
I agree Sharon, the upsells and not needing additional tools is a big deal for most people I think. I don’t want to speak poorly of other systems. In fact, I belong to some other programs as well and even recommend some (depending on a person’s goals) but for those systems to work you will need landing page builder’s, email autoreponders and often have to pay for traffic. Put into perspective, they are minor expenses compared to starting a traditional bricks and mortar business.
At its core, affiliate marketing is an online referral program where merchants pay commissions to publishers on sales generated by customers they’ve referred. The merchant can be an online retailer like eBay, or a service provider. Individuals and companies referring the traffic are called publishers, or affiliates, who publish content on the web promoting the merchant’s offerings. Customers are the people that click on the promoted content and make a purchase or complete a specified action. Payment is typically in the form of commission, but sometimes merchants offer a flat rate for a specific action, or a bonus for a type of visitor. EPN offers both commissions and bonuses.
In the beginning 2-3 months, I too actually considered the possibility “what if none of this is actually real. What if all the chatting and communicating is just done by a planned team sitting in a room somewhere. I am doing a lot better now though, and I am still learning every day. You are right, you can’t learn everything in a few weeks. I’ve been around here for over a year, and I probably still don’t know 10% of all the different variables to affiliate marketing.
Thank for this awesome post Yaro, I love the detail of your post. I just made my first affiliate sale and it landed up putting me in my first leaderboard. It was a really nice experience and I felt proud about the achievement. One thing I can say is, offering extra added value to affiliate offers is the way to go and increased my conversions so much.
Okay, if you're still with me, fantastic. You're one of the few that doesn't mind wading through a little bit of hopeless murkiness to reemerge on the shores of hope. But before we jump too far ahead, it's important to understand what online marketing is and what it isn't. That definition provides a core understanding of what it takes to peddle anything on the web, whether it's a product, service or information.
Warrior Forum WSO’s – This is the only option on the list I will actually tell you to stay away from. Warrior Forum WSO’s are almost always a rip-off and no amount of them will adequately teach you how to truly build a real online business. This forum community is owned by Freelancer.com and they will allow just about anyone to sell just about anything. The majority of them are very cheap, but once you give them your email address, get ready to be spammed. They also almost always include “upsells” where the initial product may only cost a few bucks, but all the other products they sell you within the first product costs substantially more. I could write all day about why you should never purchase a Warrior Forum WSO, but if you want to learn more, you can read my article about Warrior Forum WSO’s here.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this course deserves more stars. I have learned a lot by taking this course. I was able to complete two websites making them look half way decent because I used what was taught to create the websites in a matter of days. I still have to add content to the website but I was able to accomplish more by taking this course than I have by taking other courses. I really felt like I accomplished something by taking this course. I plan to watch it again several times. This course is great for anyone wanting to build a website. The website does not have to be an affiliate website. I advise everyone to use the same theme that he uses in the course. I will take more of his courses for sure. – Latoya Simmons
Wow, great review! I love how you are so down to earth and honest. And yes, I feel the exact same way about WA. One thing, you could probably break down the post/page into 2 or three more pages. It is quite lengthy, but is packed with great information if the reader is dedicated. Really great article overall! Not just saying that. You right well and you are definitely going to succeed in the long run… I feel it! Thanks for this great review!
Your post is supremely detailed, well delineated and presented in a way that seems legitimate and genuine way to earn financial freedom. I especially like the visual aids you provide with analysis and progress reports. It sounds to me like a soluble manner in which to level up someone’s financial status and I will definitely look further into it and pass the link along. Thank you for dialling in such a well informed post.
With a small amount of experience, finding a vendor that is not overly interested in their affiliates is quite easy. There will usually be signs on the sales page, such as alternative payment methods that do not give you credit for the referral, paid advertising blocks, and prominent links to other products which are not in their affiliate network. Quality vendors will also provide good tools to help their affiliates, including banners, product images, and even some helpful demographics.
Thanks for your kind comment. When I joined Wealthy Affiliate I still had a ton of questions, so I wanted to put a review out there that was as complete as possible. I get you about being an introvert… I didn’t consider myself an introvert when I was younger but at some point I realized that I really like doing my own thing and having my own time. An online business is perfect for that. Just like now, it’s a peaceful morning and the breeze is blowing in my office window here. I love it 😀 My favorite part of day. I did B2B sales for 10 years. Thousands upon thousands of sales calls, and this is so much better.
But, along the way you’re learning important marketing strategies, and you are developing the skills needed to build the online ‘infrastructure’ needed to operate a business… such as a website (built to rank high in the search engines), social media pages and groups, as well as email marketing funnels etc. Those skills are critical for any business. So even if you already own a small business, what you will learn at Wealthy Affiliate will give you to ability take it to the next level.
An online business isn't for everybody. It's a simple formula. You have to put the time in; Training, Work hard and be patient. It takes time. If you were to start a restaurant business without any previous experience, are you going to be successful in the first year? Probably not...lol. For one thing, you would need training in the restaurant business to have a chance.
Yes it is definitely not a get rich quick scheme, it takes A LOT of work – which is what I try to get across in this review. You need to be comfortable with doing a lot of work for 6 months and not get paid a dime. That is not something that many people can follow through with. But it is, unfortunately, part of the process, and it can lead to very satisfying results later on.
