Some merchants run their own (in-house) affiliate programs using dedicated software, while others use third-party intermediaries to track traffic or sales that are referred from affiliates. There are two different types of affiliate management methods used by merchants: standalone software or hosted services, typically called affiliate networks. Payouts to affiliates or publishers can be made by the networks on behalf of the merchant, by the network, consolidated across all merchants where the publisher has a relationship with and earned commissions or directly by the merchant itself.
Conversion rate optimization is still possibly one of the most underutilized but critical functions of digital marketing. Every element of digital marketing is useless without considering conversion rates. This goes for SEO, SEM, Social Media, Email, and Display. The power of your SEO rankings are only as good as your click through rates and your traffic is only valuable of your website and landing pages foster some type of “action.” Why spend all the time and energy driving traffic through multiple different channels if you are not willing to spend the time and energy on conversion optimization? Yet many brands and agencies still put less emphasis on this crucial piece of the puzzle.
Affiliate marketing has grown quickly since its inception. The e-commerce website, viewed as a marketing toy in the early days of the Internet, became an integrated part of the overall business plan and in some cases grew to a bigger business than the existing offline business. According to one report, the total sales amount generated through affiliate networks in 2006 was £2.16 billion in the United Kingdom alone. The estimates were £1.35 billion in sales in 2005. MarketingSherpa's research team estimated that, in 2006, affiliates worldwide earned US$6.5 billion in bounty and commissions from a variety of sources in retail, personal finance, gaming and gambling, travel, telecom, education, publishing, and forms of lead generation other than contextual advertising programs.
A. There could be several reason for this error. You might have already created an account in the past and you forgot about it. Someone might have created an account using your email address. Someone might have created a account using your IP (internet connection in your house) and WA thinks it might be a duplicate account. Since I do not own Wealthy Affiliate I cannot help you with this. You can contact WA support directly and see how they can help you out.
This is what I meant when I said at the beginning, they teach you the skills you need to build your business "independently" of Wealthy Affiliate. In much the same way a university teaches you the skills to pursue a profession on your own, Wealthy Affiliate teaches you to create your own business in any niche, outside of (and independently) of Wealthy Affiliate.
First, this is a long review. It has evolved and grown over the last couple years and is now the longest, and one of the most comprehensive Wealthy Affiliate reviews online. I'm not saying it's the best (there are many great reviews), but it's been written with plenty of breaks and headlines and I've added a quick navigation guide... so feel free to skim through and jump to a topic as needed.

Non-profit corporations and political entities use Internet marketing to raise awareness about the issues they address and engage individuals in their campaigns. They strongly favor social networking platforms because they are more personal than websites and they are easy to share, increasing the “viral” word-of-mouth effect that is so prevalent in online media.

The web became a place where people could find information, news, products, opinions, inspiration, data. Terms like e-commerce, website traffic and banner ads emerged. As the world increasingly decided to spend their time and money online, marketers began inventing ways to leverage this communication channel, and opportunities for website owners to partner began. Content creators conceptualized ways to monetize their sites – ways to get paid for the exposure they could give merchants to their site visitors. Merchants found ways to reach new audiences and pay only when they converted.
Now that I think about it, I never go to a restaurant that has one hundred 5 star reviews and not a single bad review – it’s impossible that every customer is 100% satisfied. My point is that out of 100,000+ members and 10 years in business Wealthy Affiliate only got 3 negative reviews from customers (at least I think they were customers). How much does that tell you about a company?

Hey Simon, thanks for stopping by and really appreciate the share and follow. The free membership is what got me in as well but it wasn’t long before I upgraded. That’s awesome that you’re starting to see some commissions. It does take time to get the ball rolling, but it sure is nice when it does 😀 I really appreciate your insight and kind comments.
