Hi Warren, thanks for the kind words. It does take WORK as you say. And it can’t be said enough, because I really don’t like programs that mislead people into thinking they’re going to get rich with little effort. Personally, I like that it takes work because hard work eliminates a lot of competition. I might not know as much as someone else, and I’m definitely not as intelligent as most… but one thing I can do is work just as hard, and even harder than the best ’em. 😀

In effect, VigLink works as the middleman between a publisher (blogger) and merchants by scanning the publisher’s content and automatically creating links to publishers that are chosen “in real time” based on their payout/conversation rates. This makes VigLink a very hands-off affiliate program for publishers who prefer to focus on content instead of managing their affiliate links.

Cookie stuffing involves placing an affiliate tracking cookie on a website visitor's computer without their knowledge, which will then generate revenue for the person doing the cookie stuffing. This not only generates fraudulent affiliate sales but also has the potential to overwrite other affiliates' cookies, essentially stealing their legitimately earned commissions.
Holidays are great times for affiliate promotions, especially Valentine’s Day. Carloine, I don’t see it as a mistake you have not yet monetized your blog. In my view the mistake comes when you try to put the monetization in first. There’s way too many people putting up sites without original content, pasting in go-articles, and thinking if they implement SEO tactics adsense will make them serious money. I doubt any blog will succeeed without good, original content, so I think you are wise to put that in first.

Thanks for stopping by, and for your kind words. I’m with you on this one… I like my instant gratification 😀 . But, really… when it comes to business (online or otherwise) it’s the hard work that separates us from others. As I said in my review, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. You can separate yourself from 90% of the people looking for a quick buck online by just doing the work… and making your mark in the remaining 10% is just going the extra mile. If there’s ever anything you need or have any questions that I can help with, don’t hesitate to comment or send me an email. I’d be glad to help out.

Over the past two years, I have been nothing but overwhelmed with internet and affiliate marketing. I think I am like many beginning internet marketers. Try every tool and every internet marketing guru's advice because they promise the world and make it seem so easy. Cost? Huge. Results? Few. When I came across Pat Flynn I felt there was something different. He just seemed real to me. So, I decided to try Pat's 1·2·3 Affiliate Marketing course. His course was much less expensive than others I've paid for. I'm half-way through the course and I finally finished my site and made a sale. I have regained my faith and really enjoy the white hat aspect of affiliate marketing. I feel like Pat really cares about us, which is unique in this business.
Email marketing, as I have written about before, is superior to other forms of online marketing because of how much attention people give to email and the speed of response. People read emails constantly and will do so as emails come in. Blogs command attention too, but people consume blogs when they want to, it is not a form of forced attention like email is currently consumed.
I do make a small commission on some of the products and services that I use and recommend through affiliate relationships with those merchants. Before making any purchase you should always rely on your own judgement and do your own due diligence. The results you get will be entirely based on your own experience and skill set. Never, EVER purchase anything that you cannot afford. Avoid purchasing products that do not have a clearly stated Guarantee, or that promise ridiculous results, like “Getting Rich Quick”. There is no guarantee that you will have the same success with any of the products or services recommended. Most people don’t do anything with the products they buy, and most of the time, their results are zero! My results aren’t typical because I’m not typical 😉
I would also like to see a forum built into the platform. Wealthy Affiliate has a unique way of building a community and I understand why they shy away from a standard forum type of format. Instead, they want to promote live chat sessions, blog posts, private messaging, and public questions where people can comment below. This type of setup is pretty cool at times, but I also do enjoy forums where I can just browse by topic.

For instance, the Pew Internet & American Life Project has demographic data that suggests individuals between the ages of 18 and 33 are the most likely to use mobile Internet technology like smartphones and tablets, while the “Gen-X” demographic of individuals who are in their 30’s and 40’s are far more likely to seek out information through their laptop and desktop computers.(See also Targeted Marketing)

Thanks for your comment Kristof. I agree. Although there are other good programs out there, and I don’t mind recommending those either, I haven’t been able to find one that provides the level of education and tools that Wealthy Affiliate provides. Even more than that though is the community. It’s crazy how many people are there at WA and willing to help you with whatever you need.
How does it work? We send you newsletters with all the information necessary to participate in a campaign and once it’s live, you submit a link for us to review your submission. Upon campaign completion, we verify your submission against the provided requirements, check that your links/banners are working appropriately, and then bonus your account accordingly!
As far as affiliate programs, you would first consider what your audience would need. Someone who is doing a water fast might be interested in books on that topic, multi-vitamins and other health products. If they’re doing a water fast, they’re doing it for a reason. To lose weight or to cure something that traditional medicine might not be curing.
In order to become successful, you must be very careful at every step of using viral marketing. One mistake can make or break your dream of creating a positive word of mouth for your offerings. Keeping this in mind, here is a bonus that will help you bank on the right catalyst & invoke the positive buzz needed to achieve desired results. Ultimately, you can get best results and reach out to hordes of scattered customers without investing a fortune.

The problem with affiliate marketing, like many other home business options, are the so-called gurus and get-rich-quick programs that suggest affiliate marketing can be done fast and with little effort. Odds are you've read claims of affiliate marketing programs that say you can make hundreds of thousands of dollars a month doing almost nothing ("Three clicks to rich!"). Or, they suggest you can set up your affiliate site, and then forget it, except to check your bank deposits.

I’ll explain why my review of Wealthy Affiliate and how it can and will benefit you in due course but if you are looking for an opportunity to learn and build a legitimate online business that I can’t suggest or think of a better platform to build on. Wealthy Affiliate I believe is one of the oldest standing and probably the most innovative online business community with an abundance of like minded people who help each other grow.
